Pattaya is always switched on and fun. This vibrant coastal city shot to fame in early 1980s, and stayed there. From sunrise to sunset, Pattaya’s beaches are constantly brimming with life, as water sports lovers and sun worshippers take to the waters. After dark, the action shifts to the streets, as revellers explore its electrified nightlife scene, where drinking and partying continue until dawn.Apart from water sports and nightlife, Pattaya offers endless possibilities when it comes to Golfers.
Golf in Pattaya is one of the specialities of the region, with more than 20 courses within an hour's drive from Bangkok. Most are located within 30 minutes. It provides high quality courses and a lot of them with international standard designed by some of the most famous names, including Nick Faldo (Great Lakes), Jack Nicklaus (Laem Chabang), Gary Player (Sri Racha) and Robert Trent Jones (Eastern Star Resort and Country Club). The landscape here is a major attraction and very beautiful.
Most golf courses lie between or next to the mountain range providing lush green and fresh feeling. Some offer a breathtaking view of Pattaya Bay and the islands dotted in the ocean. They also offer a wide range of facilities and value for money, from the 500 Baht for green & caddy fee to 2,500 Baht. It is advisable to wear long trousers rather than shorts to some of the more upmarket clubs.
